What commercial electrical work involves

Commercial electrical work covers a wide range — from fitting out a new office or retail unit to refurbishing the electrical installation in an existing building, installing three-phase supply, or carrying out EICR testing on commercial premises. Each job has its own requirements, and the standards — for safety, documentation, and compliance — are those of a professional environment.

Nursteed works with commercial clients across Bath and the surrounding area. We're experienced working alongside architects, contractors, and project managers, and we understand that on a commercial job, reliability and communication matter as much as the work itself. Holding up a programme is costly, and we take that seriously.

We're a growing business and we're selective about the commercial work we take on. If we're the right fit for your project, we'll tell you. If we're not, we'll tell you that too.

What to expect from Nursteed

A straight conversation about the scope We'll discuss what the project involves, what access and programme constraints exist, and whether we're the right team for it. We'd rather have that conversation early than discover a mismatch mid-project.
A detailed quote Commercial projects are quoted in detail — labour, materials, and a programme of works. No open-ended pricing.
Clear communication throughout We confirm attendance, flag issues as they arise, and don't go quiet. On a site with multiple trades, communication isn't optional.
Full documentation on completion All commercial electrical work is certified, and EICR testing on commercial premises is carried out to the relevant standards. Documentation is provided promptly.

Common questions

What size of commercial project do you take on?

We work on projects ranging from small single-unit fit-outs to larger refurbishments. We don't have a fixed upper or lower limit — it depends on the scope, the programme, and whether we're the right fit. Get in touch and let's have a conversation.

Can you provide three-phase supply?

Yes. Three-phase supply installation and distribution board work is within our scope for commercial projects.

Do you carry out commercial EICRs?

Yes. Commercial EICR testing is carried out to the relevant standards, with reports and certification issued on completion. We work with commercial landlords and letting agents across Bath and the surrounding area.

Can you work around business hours?

Where necessary, yes. For occupied commercial premises, we'll discuss the programme and access requirements upfront and plan around operational constraints.

Are you insured for commercial work?

Yes. We carry full public liability insurance. Certificates are available on request.
